Right, to-day marks the first week of NaNoWriMo, and I've made very little progress on my novel. Real life has been getting in my way, and I really haven't had much time to commit to my story. I only hope that it gets better from here.

So, an Update
Right, so I haven't been updating as much as I'd like. Real life can do that to a person. However, I did get a chance to enter a writing contest on Wattpad, and won third place, so there's that. If and when I get the chance to post here again, I'll share my winning entry with you all. It' s basically just a slightly different version of my first (and so far only) chapter of "Kingdom Hearts: Ghosts of Loss," but still.
The whole point of the contest was to share 2,000 words of a previously written work, sans context. I figured I could do that, at least, and I did. So, yeah, I'm pretty pleased with my win, and just wanted to share that with y
Seeing God in Familiar Places
Because of where I live, I'm treated to spectacular displays of the magnificent, creative glory of God. Recently, on a drive through the woods, I was struck with a breath-taking display of deep rich reds and a variety of yellows that decorated the trees of autumn--all artfully arranged against the backdrop of a brilliant blue sky.

Mais notre monde érodé restera le même
Et demain toi et moi serons partis.
Translation:
A faraway prayer carried by the evening wind
Animates the leaves in their languorous dance
It's the hymn of the old trees, sung for you
For those somber forests which are now
Praying With Fiction by Bob Hostetler
A good novel or short story can seem so real and engrossing that fiction starts to blend with reality. Sometimes the characters are so convincing and compelling that you find yourself tensing when they're in trouble, crying when they hurt and rejoicing when they succeed.
Sometimes a reader's investment in fictional characters goes even deeper. You may dream about your favourite characters. You may grieve when the story ends. You may daydream about their later lives. But have you considered praying for them?
They're not real, of course, so maybe it seems silly to pray for them. But you've come to know them. They were--at least momentarily--f
